Taking your business on to the global stage is a huge step. Whether you’re translating your marketing material for a trade show or localising your website for a market launch in a new territory, accurate translation is vital. In addition to this, fluidity of the text, respect for local language and cultural details elevate the content from “make do” to “made to measure”. You want your target audience to feel safe in the knowledge that you’re writing for them, not just to them.
Below you’ll find more detail about the types of content I translate, the software I use, the languages I offer and my specialist subjects.
Collaboration & Languages
I provide translation from Spanish and Portuguese into English. If it’s a language other than these two, I team up with trusted colleagues to provide the necessary language capabilities. As a team, we can provide coverage for the majority of European languages, both into and out of English. This collaboration with my talented translator colleagues therefore opens up numerous combinations for translation between European languages, for example, German into Polish, Italian into Spanish. Just ask.

My specialist subjects:
I focus on four areas of specialism for my translation projects – technical, creative, historical and literature. Within these sectors I’ve built up an impressive portfolio of clients – working with fashion houses, governmental bodies and construction giants, to name a few.
To give you an idea of the subject areas I work in, here are some keywords from projects over the past 5 years, along with examples of documents in these fields.
Sustainability, Software development & research, security, Environment, BREEAM, LEED, Engineering, Architecture, Climate Change, Ecology, Renewable Energy, Lighting, Electricity, Sustainable Transport, Science (Chemical), Marine Biology & Conservation, Shipping, Geology, Oil, Petroleum, Natural Gas.
Example technical projects –
Environmental audits and impact assessments, outline and detail engineering specifications, app development, Geological reports of water conditions, Feasibility Studies for renewable energy and transport models, Marine access disputes, Architectural specifications.
Art, Fashion, Cookery, Culture, Literature, Social Media, Advertising, Cosmetics/Make-up, Poetry, Jewellery, Fiction, Biographies, Music, Journalism, Photography, Food and Drink, Craft, Textiles and Needlecraft.
Example creative projects –
Fashion collection descriptions, social media campaigns, funding proposals, short films, flash gallery campaigns, poetry anthologies, series of detective short stories, beginner’s photography website, menus, guides for art galleries, artist biographies.
History and literature –
This is a harder one to separate into subject types and document types; most of the historical texts I’ve worked on have been from the Early Modern Period up to Postmodernity, and have ranged from quick guides for museums up to 200-page theses.
On the literature front I am always eager to hear about new projects and authors – to date I’ve worked on non-fiction books relating to design, food and art, along with a few historical fiction works and human experience pieces.
If you have a project in mind and you’re not sure if it’s something I cover, do get in touch with the details at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill in some details on the Contact page. I’ll be happy to provide you with a quote, or point you in the right direction if I can’t help you.
